Michelle Alkhatib currently serves on the Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees, Place 6, and has been dedicated to supporting LISD students and teachers for more than a decade. Her leadership journey began in PTA, where she served as President of the Lewisville ISD Council of PTAs—the governing body for all PTAs in the district—and continues today as a Council Delegate for her local PTA. She partners with Texas PTA, serving on statewide leadership committees to strengthen parent and community engagement across Texas.
Beyond her PTA work, Michelle has actively contributed to numerous LISD programs, including the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee, District Advisory Committee, Long Range Growth Planning Committee, District Advocacy Committee, and local campus Building Leadership Teams. She currently serves on the board of the Lewisville ISD Education Foundation as President-Elect. Michelle is also a graduate of the Inside LISD Leadership Program, Texas PTA's Full Circle Leadership program, the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce Leadership program, and is currently participating in the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce Leadership program.
With a professional background as both a teacher and administrator, Michelle’s strengths in education and leadership are rooted in firsthand experience. She is an active trustee who regularly attends school and district events, visits campuses, volunteers alongside parents and staff, and collaborates with community members.
Michelle and her husband are proud parents of four children—three currently attending schools in Lewisville ISD and one who graduated with the Class of 2024. This personal connection fuels her passion for ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and succeed.
“I believe my experience in education, combined with my volunteer service, has shaped me as a leader and deepened my commitment to advocating for ALL children in Lewisville ISD,” Michelle shares.
Michelle’s vision is to continue building strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community, while supporting teachers and empowering students to reach their fullest potential.
